Welcome to Our Evolving Mission

We are thrilled to announce the next chapter in our community support and enrichment journey. While Nourishing Forsyth (NF) remains an integral part of our history and continues as an active initiative, we proudly introduce our new non-profit organization, The Feeling Friends Community Center for Culturally Responsive Emotional Intelligence (TFFCC). Building on the solid groundwork laid by NF, TFFCC is a natural progression in our mission.

While NF has been instrumental in addressing the nutritional needs of our community and fostering a sense of togetherness, TFFCC expands our horizons to include the crucial aspect of emotional intelligence, with a strong emphasis on cultural responsiveness. At TFFCC, we passionately commit to creating a nurturing environment where emotional well-being takes center stage.

We do this through various culturally relevant programs and resources, empowering individuals with the tools to navigate their emotions effectively. Our ultimate goal is to foster a resilient and inclusive community. We deeply appreciate your ongoing support as we embark on this thrilling new journey. We will nourish body and mind together, forging a stronger, more connected community.

TFFCC's foundation is LOVE.

The Feeling Friends Community Center for Culturally Responsive Emotional Intelligence (TFFCC) is a Black-led initiative that provides high-quality, culturally responsive emotional intelligence education in marginalized communities. Our mission is to eliminate the impact of intergenerational racism on Black children, families, and communities. We foster open dialogues about racism, acknowledge resilience, and unite in the collective struggle for humanity. TFFCC affirms Black cultures and harnesses the strengths of racially and ethnically minoritized communities.

We engage with students, educators, families, and communities, valuing their voices and encouraging reciprocity. Our programs include professional development, workshops, mentoring, and leadership training focused on emotional intelligence skills such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision-making, and relationship management. Through our efforts, TFFCC nurtures emotionally intelligent communities, contributing to their overall health and well-being while taking actionable approaches to addressing and confronting racism.

The
Superintendent's Institute

At The Superintendent's Institute (TSI), we empower Black girls through our Emotional Intelligent Leader curriculum, addressing systemic inequalities and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).

We break through barriers of fear, shame, and guilt, enabling girls to discuss their past and present ACEs in a safe environment. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, we foster transformation in school communities, ensuring every voice is heard and valued.

Our approach builds trust, encouraging honest communication and emotional literacy. Our work has a significant impact. Through community collaboration, we develop effective solutions to the pressing community problem of ACEs.

SYSTEM CHANGE COMMUNITY

Nourishing Forsyth (NF) is a system change community driven-trauma informed & social and emotional learning (SEL) campaign designed to produce a healthier, trauma-informed, and emotionally intelligent Forsyth County.  Through a grassroots and grasstops coalition effort designed to help families navigate systems, Nourishing Forsyth emerged as a system change SEL intervention from the Think-And-Do Tank called Forsyth Family Power.  Forsyth Family Power operationalizes the grassroots community to be the centered voice and driving force that informs institutionalized decision making around educational equity. Through the community wide effort of Nourishing Forsyth, The Feelings Company is positioned to make multi-level investment in place-based, SEL and trauma-informed, community-driven initiatives that impact the epidemic of poor educational outcomes, racial wealth disparity, and multi-generational economic mobility.

NF fosters an understanding of the root cause of systemic inequities and implements system change strategies that create the conditions for all sections to thrive using community-based system design, programs, and practices that reflect community values and strengths.

NF is in partnership with various organizations in Forsyth County whose structures, frameworks, and processes enable clear actions aligned to goals.
